
Sonic dB is a unique music technology and music industry project that takes place in Youth Offending Institutions across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. It seeks to provide experiential learning experiences for young people interested in music technology and the music industry.
Letting in the Light have been working with Dr Andrew Miles of the University of Manchester on the external evaluation of this project. As part of this,
Letting in the Light's Dr Wayne Thexton has worked alongside artists and project participants to develop evidence of the values and impacts of the project.
Employing participatory observation and interview methods, this has seen Wayne learning from and advising artists and participants, and contributing to film development, song-writing and self-exploration activities.
This work has seen
Letting in the Light support ongoing project improvement, the development of high quality music and film outputs, and participants' personal and social development.
