Talking Heads

Letting in the Light were commissioned by South Staffordshire District Council in partnership with South Western Staffordshire NHS, to collaborate with young people from Wombourne and Great Wyrley Youth Clubs to create, with each, a series of dynamic silk panels and a video projection with rap sound track. 

This project firstly dealt with issues of mental health and how they affect young people and also promoted the groups to their local communities.  Each club had an event at which the work was presented to an invited audience.  The panels will be on permanent display within the youth clubs. 

Letting in the Light are compiled a report on behalf of the young people of their thoughts, concerns and possible solutions to issues of mental health affecting their lives.   The information was taken directly from recordings of the young peoples' conversations and discussions initiated during the project.
