Westlands Primary School

Letting in the Light were commissioned by Staffordshire County Council's Ethnic Minority Achievement to run a project with Westlands School to begin to get the pupils of the school to think about diversity and different cultures.

At the start of the project teachers photographed all the pupils in the school. 

Day 1 - Reception and Yr 1 & 2 pupils worked with visual artists to create large faces out of the individual parts of the pupil's photos, so the pupils spent time cutting out their own and their friends eyes etc which were then used to form the eyes etc on the large faces.

Yrs 3 & 4 - worked with their teachers to cut up full body photos of themselves which were then put back together with other pupil's bodies with interesting results!
