Ania Bas - COLLABORATIVE ARTIST
Ania Bas is a collaborative artist and developer of art projects. She often invites everyday people to take part in creative processes that lead to creation of art works. She uses different media: photography, Internet, performance and mobile phones. She enjoys blurring the edges of what art is and can be, and who produces it.
Previous projects:
A space game (2006)
Panoramas of the cityscape made of pictures of Coventry. Panoramas exist in two forms: stitched & fluid and deconstructed & isolated. Both showing a fake and imaginary edition of the city. The artwork was shown as part of the Urban Lighthouse project. www.theurbanlighthouse.com
Adopt a plant (2006)
Film, photographic and performance work with group of residents of the Greets Green area of West Bromwich. Ten people were invited to adopt a plant and grow it from the seed and work with the artist to document the whole process. www.adoptaplant.co.uk
TxTstory (2005)
Txt stories created via mobile phones with invited individuals from England, Poland and Lithuania. All stories started at the same point with initial txt message and some of them grew in unexpected way, some do not. To exhibit the stories a txt story gallery was created that can be accessed via mobile phone. A new version of TxTstory is in development which will allow greater number of people to take part.
