Get in! - July 2007 - September 2008

Letting in the Light were commissioned by Creative Partnerships Stoke to work with nine high schools in Stoke-On-Trent. The focus of the project was to work with groups of young people to teach them skills that would enable them to research, decision make, document, present and evaluate.

An advertising film was created by pupils at St Thomas More school and was shown in the schools to encourage young people to apply to be part of the Get in! project. Shortlisted young people then took part in creative workshops that functioned as interviews and the teams were selected.

The Get in! teams worked with creative practitioners to undertake 'core training' which then gave them the skills to undertake a live project in school.

Each live project was focused on something happening in school.

The majority of Get in! teams are now continuing to work in their schools and have a system in place to ensure that the teams work with the new year 7 intake to train new team members each new school year.
