Squeezing The Haywood - September 2008 - current

Sarah has been commissioned by artist Emily Campbell to co-ordinate the student volunteers for a new community arts project at the Haywood Hospital

The Haywood Hospital is currently under going major redevelopment and it is important to the PCT that as much of the history, character and changes that are taking place are 'captured'in order for artworks to be commissioned for the new site.

Stoke on Trent PCT has commissioned Visual Artist Emily Campbell as the Lead Artist, to undertake a period of research at the Haywood Hospital.

Working in partnership with Staffordshire University, students will be working in the hospital and with patients and staff to document the building, site and surroundings of the 'old' Haywood Hospital in order to produce a number of temporary artistic installations / exhibitions inspired by these memories. This work will also create a bank of memories to be used at a future date to create an ongoing archive of work and source material for future installations and art works.

The outcomes of these projects will culminate in a body of texts, images sound, etc that document and record the old Haywood site.
